paper artist of the week: tsilli

leveraged

though not a paper artist by definition, the recent works of tsilli pines quite literally utilize paper as a commentary on the preponderance of numbers in our daily lives. the figures is a series about "the topography of money in human consciousness, the constant parade of numbers in everyday life. (they) are at once imaginary and very real." tsilli's impetus for this project is "the power numbers have in our lives, and how much they dictate, both psychologically and actually." all works are pigment, vintage paper and cotton thread on rice paper.

tsilli is by trade a graphic designer and has designed award-winning projects for the likes of david bowie. cool.
