paper artist of the week: jorge ayala

Image
i recently posted images of a beautiful architectural model by jorge ayala . soon after, i received a kind note of appreciation and an invitation to be the first to publish images of his newest project, and i am so very pleased to do so here! jorge ayala is an architect with a masters degree in landscape urbanism from london's prestigious architectural association school . this project, physical changing model maps the territories of the gulf of mexico and proposes a spatial organization, represented here as an art installation of thinly cut and layered cardboard. stunning, isn't it ?! i adore when art and science come together so beautifully well, and look forward to learning and sharing more about the emerging discipline of landscape urbanism and its presentation through beautiful art pieces such as this. to view more projects, please take a moment to visit jorge's portfolio here . + all photos courtesy jorge ayala

paper artist: stefan diez

Image
stefan diez is an award-winning furniture designer, having designed some pretty amazing pieces for e15 , thonet , and moroso , among others. he also designed a beautiful paper tote for his wife's jewelry design studio, saskia diez . 1m3 is an exhibition as an idea of an exhibition... it doesn’t propose anything but ideas of objects. they are all made of paper and glue, cardboard and tape, painted or not...we focused on the primitive and elementary essence of paper...these objects pretend to be what they are not... currently on display at la chaufferie , 1m3 highlights the stage of the mock-up process just before a prototype is required, and in its presentation here projects a hint of what may become.

paper artist: miso

Image
amazing cut paper street art by miso . miso is really taken with the idea of art , and especially street art, as something which binds us as a community. it functions in a very old fashioned way, in that it becomes a way of telling and sharing stories and images, embedding them within the city...it brings us together as makers, viewers and consumers, finding new pieces and exploring the possibilities of our cities. miso is 20, is heavily inspired by ukranian folk art and street art, and lives in melbourne where she shares a studio with her partner, ghostpatrol . + more here and here . {via holga. paint with your holga and shoot from the heart }
