the machine as performer. as hybrid object with functions similar to those of a calendar and a clock, it shreds every single day in realtime. all that time that is irrevisibly lost gets a tangible existence in form of shredded paper. as time passes by, the tattered remains of the past pile up under the device.

this is going to be a huge post, but i can't help but post a gazillion pics of what i find to be some of the most amazing handcrafted furniture i've ever seen. palo samko is based in brooklyn, and that's about all i know, except to say that he has phenomenal woodworking skills! the designs and the attention to detail are just so, so beautiful ~ my jaw quite literally dropped with every click through the slideshow! enjoy! {via roadside scholar }
