limited edition of 50 boxes,
each containing a set of materials and forms,
for abstract play.

wood, plastic, ceramic, rubber, fabric. the components...have a character that sits somewhere between board game bits, measurement tools, ambiguous accessories for clothing, for eating.

the sets each imply activity but there are no rules or guidelines supplied. hand werk is simply about sensibility brought about by mute play, by handling. no rules because the elements should be moved and moved again.

this is going to be a huge post, but i can't help but post a gazillion pics of what i find to be some of the most amazing handcrafted furniture i've ever seen. palo samko is based in brooklyn, and that's about all i know, except to say that he has phenomenal woodworking skills! the designs and the attention to detail are just so, so beautiful ~ my jaw quite literally dropped with every click through the slideshow! enjoy! {via roadside scholar }
