family stories.



...is two stop motion films about family history and family relationships, in which the family members are represented by colourful thread spools. the spools roll through their lives, changing direction when they move away or back home, crossing life lines of others, joining them for a while and sometimes separating from each other again.


the project won the “melkweg prize” for the most original and personal graduation project of the design academy eindhoven in 2009.

this is going to be a huge post, but i can't help but post a gazillion pics of what i find to be some of the most amazing handcrafted furniture i've ever seen. palo samko is based in brooklyn, and that's about all i know, except to say that he has phenomenal woodworking skills! the designs and the attention to detail are just so, so beautiful ~ my jaw quite literally dropped with every click through the slideshow! enjoy! {via roadside scholar }
