daily paper fix: the last match




ongoing since march '09, the idea was
to invite 200 artists to create an exhibition
which fits in no more than 7 matchboxes.
the tiny illustrations are assembled and hung
from a match for display.

to date, there are 144 pieces representing 38 countries.

this is going to be a huge post, but i can't help but post a gazillion pics of what i find to be some of the most amazing handcrafted furniture i've ever seen. palo samko is based in brooklyn, and that's about all i know, except to say that he has phenomenal woodworking skills! the designs and the attention to detail are just so, so beautiful ~ my jaw quite literally dropped with every click through the slideshow! enjoy! {via roadside scholar }
