smile!

Image
happy by isofoto just in case you have not heard...polaroid may be saved!! florian kaps has been a big player in the campaign to save polaroid ~ he set up polanoid and also founded the first ever polaroid-only gallery in vienna, polanoir . under kaps' managment, in an effort entitled the impossible project, development of a new film for polaroid began yesterday. in collaboration with ilford , film of two exposure types will be produced, each compatible with both the sx-70 and the 600 series. the goal is to mass produce the film before year's end ~ right about the time existing film stocks are expected to be depleted. happy, happy, joy, joy! {via the independent }

kool man.

Image
so, i've missed the ice cream truck twice this week - sound of creepy lovely music sends me on a scramble to office and through purse for change and a run to the door, back to purse to grab door keys, back to door, unlock, run run run to catch the truck and...gone. just out of view (of the truck - just in view of my office mates next door. its ok). i am on a mission to get a sherbet thingy with a gumball at the bottom, with little wooden spoon. here's wishing you a lovely weekend. have some ice cream. wish me luck. kool man by stephanieland

swings. photos.

Image
i make it a point to stop by my neighborhood park and go for a swing at least a couple of times a week. when i was young i used to show off on the playground with my swinging skills. i had this routine that i practiced and practiced, involving several different swinging positions (standing, upside down) - i think i may have wanted to be a trapeze artist and this was my compromise. the best part of the routine was the dismount, and i had it perfected. one day, i called all the teachers and students over to watch me perform, and it was awesome - smooth and seamless and very very impressive. until the dismount. i was so excited, i think, by the cheers of approval that i lost my concentration and missed (ever so slightly) my cue to release. fast forward to minutes later when i awake to the school nurse crying over me, wet rags on face, teachers fanning me, sparkly-colored vision with sunlight blinding. i'm pretty sure the school nurse was just someone's mom - not sure she knew what...
