absolutely gorgeous mixed media paintings by noted encaustic artist eric blum . i love how these appear to be distorted photographic images, an effect he achieves by applying one layer per day of watercolor, silk, and beeswax or resin. his intent in this work is to describe the ache and the insatiability of desire . stunning! {images via marcia wood gallery }

i have a memory associated with each of these paintings ~ some clear, some not, but there is something so familiar about the scenes and moods illustrated here by danna ray . i love the muted tones with little bursts of color in lines, drops and accents. really, really beautiful pieces. {via my love for you is a stampede of horses }
