nea wall wear.

Image
new nea wall wear designs from janick ! these were made exclusively for an event in montreal, using vintage metal frames. janick has promised that any pieces that didn't sell will be posted in her etsy shop . the event ended this past weekend, and while i hope dear janick sold the lot of them, i surely would love to adorn the walls of my daughter's room with one or two or all of these sweet pieces! :)

newer, available-for-purchase works from one of my absolute favorite artists, diem chau . (yes, that's embroidery on porcelain!) chau combines common mediums and common means to create delicate vignettes of fleeting memory, gesture and form, resulting in works that combine egalitarian sensibility and minimalist restraint. nice! so beautiful!

lisa soloman.

Image
pilot wheel doily drawing these make me happy. lisa soloman is an artist fascinated with the fusing of apparently unrelated elements - showing the back side of embroidery as the front, sewing onto paper, military tanks made of bright pink felt, etc. she is especially keen on "things that read as nostalgic" and works to create new memories and new perspectives by re-framing and re-purposing found objects of interest. ghost doily trees lisa also takes lovely polaroids - love her colors and compositions... heath two orange mitsubishi a6m zeros for more information and more images of her diverse work, visit her website and her flickr page .
